I love asparagus, but it always seems like kind of a hassle to do the steaming. So I looked around online and eventually found a recipe from Alton Brown for steaming in the microwave. It worked like a charm: in only a few minutes and with no extra dishes to clean I had freshly steamed, delicious for a dinner side dish!
Instructions:
- Clean and trim fresh asparagus spears.
- Lay spears on a semi-long length of paper towel (long enough to wrap around a few times)
- Wrap towels around spears, then wet towels through with water.
- Place bundle with seam-side down in microwave and heat on high for 3 to 4 minutes.
- That's it!
